Henry County REMC is pleased to announce the distribution of grant funding to a number of local organizations serving Henry County and surrounding communities. The funding is made possible through a broader initiative led by Hoosier Energy to strengthen long-term power supply resources and reinvest in the communities served by its member cooperatives.

Henry County REMC is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Scholarship Awards, recognizing six outstanding local students for their academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to their communities.

Henry County REMC is now accepting applications for its fifth annual Summer Cooperative Camp, a unique, hands-on experience designed for high school students interested in skilled trades and careers in the utility industry.

Henry County REMC, in partnership with CoBank, has awarded a total of $30,000 in Sharing Success grants to three Henry County organizations: New Castle Career Center, Secret Families of Henry County, and Turn Away No Longer.

Henry County REMC has been in communication with Surge Development and our power supplier, Hoosier Energy, regarding the proposed technology park project. From the onset we have maintained a neutral position and continue to do so. Based on all information currently available, we do not anticipate any significant positive or negative impact on Henry County REMC members at this time.

Henry County REMC is proud to recognize several employees who have recently completed Hoosier Energy’s Apprenticeship Training and Safety (HEATS) programs. These graduates were celebrated during a special ceremony held in French Lick, Indiana, marking a significant achievement in their professional growth and dedication to safety and service excellence.

Henry County REMC (HCREMC) is proud to announce that Director Mike Reynolds has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

Henry County REMC (HCREMC) is proud to announce the success of its inaugural Power Swing Classic golf outing, held at Memorial Park Golf Course on August 23. The event raised an incredible $13,000 in support of Secret Families of Henry County, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing Christmas gifts, meals, and support for families in need.

Henry County REMC will host a free, public Solar Energy Seminar on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Room at HCREMC’s headquarters. The interactive session will feature a “Solar Basics” presentation in partnership with Hoosier Energy and a panel of local homeowners who have installed solar on their properties. Attendees will hear candid, firsthand insights about the benefits and challenges of residential solar.

Indiana’s electric cooperatives and Indiana Connection magazine are proud to announce the return of the Youth Power and Hope Awards, a program dedicated to recognizing exceptional young leaders who are making a difference in their communities.
