Henry County REMC Power Swing Classic Raises $16,700 for Turn Away No Longer

Second annual charitable golf outing supports Indiana children in foster care and demonstrates cooperative commitment to Concern for Community

(Tuesday, August 25, 2026 | New Castle, Ind.) – Henry County REMC’s second annual Power Swing Classic raised an impressive $16,700 for Turn Away No Longer, an Indiana nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care.

Held July 11, 2026, the Power Swing Classic brought together golfers, businesses, community members, and supporters for a day of golf with a greater purpose. Henry County REMC launched the charitable outing in 2025 with a simple goal: to raise funds for a local nonprofit organization making a powerful impact in the community.

Each year, Henry County REMC employees select the organization that will benefit from the event. For 2026, employees chose Turn Away No Longer (TANL), an organization that partners with individuals, churches, businesses, and other community organizations to provide resources and improve the lives of children placed in foster care.

Henry County REMC employees were especially moved by Turn Away No Longer’s mission and the organization’s work to support children during what can be one of the most challenging times in their young lives.

“We are so honored that our event raised such a significant amount of money for a truly deserving organization,” said Amber Houser, Henry County REMC CFO, who led the organization and planning of the Power Swing Classic. “Turn Away No Longer does amazing things for the kids in our communities.”

The success of the Power Swing Classic was made possible through the generosity of its sponsors, golfers, attendees, volunteers, and community supporters.
