Henry County REMC has been in communication with Surge Development and our power supplier, Hoosier Energy, regarding the proposed technology park project. From the onset we have maintained a neutral position and continue to do so. Based on all information currently available, we do not anticipate any significant positive or negative impact on Henry County REMC members at this time.
As the project progresses, we will remain actively engaged, transparent, and work with both the developer and the end user to ensure the best interests of our entire membership are fully represented. We will also ensure that all costs associated with the project are fairly allocated, with the developer or end user covering their appropriate share.
It’s important to note that when electric service is requested within our assigned territory, Henry County REMC is legally obligated to provide that service. This parcel falls within our service area, and we are required to fulfill that responsibility in accordance with state law and our cooperative principles.
