(New Castle, Ind. – April 17, 2025) Henry County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (Henry County REMC) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Scholarship Awards. Each year, the cooperative awards six one-time scholarships of $1,000 to outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.
This year’s applicant pool was exceptionally competitive, showcasing the passion, dedication, and impressive accomplishments of students across the area. After careful consideration and an interview process, six students were selected for their exemplary commitment to excellence and service.
The 2025 scholarship recipients are:
Gehrig Fredenburg, Tri Jr-Sr High School
Travis Louks, Knightstown High School
Audrey Wooldridge-Jacobi, Eastern Hancock High School
Leila Reef, Pendleton Heights High School
Sylvie Terrell, New Castle High School
Vance Toth, Knightstown High School
Funding for the scholarships is made possible through Henry County REMC’s Operation Round-Up program, in which cooperative members voluntarily round up their electric bills to the next dollar. These small contributions add up to make a significant impact on local students and the community.
“We are honored to support this upcoming generation of leaders as they take the next step in their educational journey,” said Melissa True, CEO at Henry County REMC. “These students have demonstrated the kind of drive, integrity, and compassion that make our community and our cooperative proud.”
Henry County REMC congratulates these distinguished students and wishes them success in their future endeavors.
