


(Tuesday, March 31, 2026 | New Castle, Ind.) – Henry County REMC is pleased to announce the distribution of grant funding to a number of local organizations serving Henry County and surrounding communities.
The funding is made possible through a broader initiative led by Hoosier Energy to strengthen long-term power supply resources and reinvest in the communities served by its member cooperatives. As part of this effort, Hoosier Energy has provided support to its member systems, including Henry County REMC, to fund impactful local projects and programs.
“We are grateful to Hoosier Energy for making this opportunity possible,” said Melissa True, Henry County REMC CEO. “These funds allow us to support organizations that are doing critical work across our communities and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
Grant funding will support a wide range of initiatives, including food assistance programs, youth services, health resources, and community development efforts.

Organizations were selected with input from Henry County REMC’s Board of Directors, reflecting local priorities and community needs.
Through Hoosier Energy’s initiative to secure future power supply from the restart of the Palisades Nuclear Generating Station, member cooperatives like Henry County REMC are able to reinvest directly in the communities they serve.
