If you like the idea of "green power," then EnviroWatts is for you.
EnviroWatts is our name for green power or energy generated from renewable, environmentally preferred sources. EnviroWatts power comes from a variety of resources like landfill gas generation (Clark Floyd Landfill Generating Station), large scale wind and other resources such as small scale wind and solar applications throughout Hoosier Energy's service territory, all of which can be viewed online by clicking here.
Henry County REMC offers members an opportunity to support alternative power sources in order to improve the environment. Purchasing renewable energy is slightly more expensive, but the best part is that it only costs about the same as a hamburger each month to purchase 10%, 20% or even 30% of your energy from a renewable resource. Henry County REMC offers the EnviroWatts product at 90 cents per 100 kWh blocks. For example, for a 500 kWh purchase your cost would be $4.50 per month. This is an added fee to your monthly electric bill.
The renewable energy that you are purchasing directly displaces Indiana coal fired generation. Your investment into renewable energy helps drive environmental responsibility. All cooperative members benefit when even one member participates in the EnviroWatts Renewable Energy Program.
